Learning the art of Thai cooking from her mother and grandmother, Chef Chanpen 'Pen" Ratana has been recreating dishes from her experiences growing up and living in Thailand.
Thai Room's menu focuses on cuisine from central Thailand with influences from time spent visiting and cooking in the other regions of her home country.
Pen formerly was the owner of Thai Room 2 and Thai Borrahn in downtown Chicago as well as Thai Sookdee in Evanston.
With almost forty years of restaurant cooking behind her, she has focuses her attention on her original restaurant restaurant on Western.
Thai Room can also host events of up to 50 people in a our private event space or cater offsite to large parties.
